Kai Gero Lenke is a director, writer, and producer. Born in Bremen, Germany, he studied Creative Writing at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig and the Swiss Literature Institute in Bern. From 2012 to 2015 he attended Columbia University in the City of New York where he received his MFA in Directing and Screenwriting.

 

He is currently writing for a new murder mystery series on AMAZON PRIME Germany while simultaneously preparing his first feature film as a director. 

 

In 2022, he was selected by NETFLIX from over 750 applicants for the Impact Development Accelerator, where he developed his comedy-drama series THEY JUST DON'T LIKE YOU ANYMORE with the support of writers and showrunners from Los Angeles. 

 

His screenplays have received funding from Creative Europe, medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, nordmedia, Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, and the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media (BKM).

 

He is a recipient of scholarships by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the German Academic Exchange Service, the German National Academic Foundation, and the Wim Wenders Foundation.
